Movement
Footwork
Footwork is the engine of boxing — it lets you control range, cut angles, escape danger, and stay balanced to punch. Good footwork means small, controlled steps that keep your stance intact.
How to do it
- 1Step with the foot nearest the direction you're moving first.
- 2Keep steps short — never cross your feet.
- 3Stay on the balls of your feet.
- 4Reset to a balanced stance after every movement.
Common mistakes
- Crossing the feet.
- Bouncing wastefully.
- Losing stance width while moving.
