Movement
Pivot
A pivot rotates your body around the lead foot to create a new angle, taking you off the opponent's centerline while keeping you in range to punch. It's how skilled boxers 'disappear' and re-appear on the side.
How to do it
- 1Plant the lead foot.
- 2Push off the rear foot to swing the body around.
- 3Keep hands up and stance intact through the turn.
- 4Land facing a new angle, ready to fire.
Common mistakes
- Pivoting off-balance.
- Dropping the guard mid-turn.
- Over-rotating past the target.
